I second Filebrowser!

I set up Nextcloud and spent weeks trying to get it to work properly, just to back up files. Its really a solution to replace your whole home office software stack. Too much for just files.

I got File browser running via Docker Compose in 5 minutes and its run flawlessly ever since. If all you need is file backup and sharing its lightweight and easy compared to Nextcloud.

I use a reverse proxy via NGINX Proxy Manager to expose to the web but allow easy access for my users. I pay $10 a year for a domain name to make access easier.
