ok i admit last post was just skill issue, for example how to run a dodi repack of cyberpunk 2077 on linux?
im listening. i want to see if there is a way or i was justifed in my anger. even if i wont use linux again i want to know.
I also have curiosity. I found steam so much easier than piracy so I never tried. Except in the one case of Riddick. Couldn’t buy it so I installed a cracked version on Lutris. From memory it just worked. Also it’s great, totally worth a playthrough if you haven’t already.
Lutris is the answer to this post’s question.
ok how? bec i tried it and couldnt get it to work
It depends on the game, but gnerally you would set up the prefix with whatever wine or proton version is compatible, install any other windows stuff like directx or fonts etc if required, and then run the install executable for the game and install it. Then you might have to run a separate crack program in the prefix or replace the game exe in lutris
i did all this with cyberpunk in bottles and it didnt work
Bottles, in my opinion, is a piece of shit.
Just FYI cyberpunk works perfectly fine on Linux.
I understand the piracy, I’m not advocating it but I understand. But if you have the funds, and the company is worth getting your money why don’t you just get out of all the trouble of finding how to play it and just buy it and play it without any issue?
With that said, lutris and/or bottle (or any other recent launcher to play video games on linux) will actually do the trick. If for some reason you are unable to find the how to somewhere I wonder if you should really be downloading executables off the internet. Even more so on windows if you are not using Linux anymore for ever.
Those are usually the vector of a lots of viruses and malwares.
Anyway. Have fun with cyberpunk, it’s pretty great!.. When you can launch it :-)
i can launch it on windows, thats why im on windows now.
I’ve noticed your posts a couple of times now. Just pay for your fucking games, especially from the companies that still have a heart for gaming. You get a game that most likely will work on Linux, they get paid for their work.
i wont
Hopefully if/when you produce anything, people that would consume it don’t have the same mentality.
i dont work im software idc
This topic hurts my soul…
See your inbox…
? i just checked it only this comment is there
You should have received it yesterday. I will send it again…
That account is less than a day old and you should definitely not do whatever it is they tell you to do
I just channel them to existing resources. Do you think I’d openly contribute to piracy with my main account?
why not? what would happen?
I think you intended to adress @Jozzo@lemmy.world. Sorry for the ping, btw.
FWIW, I think they’re afraid I might hook you up to something bad: ask you to click/download unsafe stuff, etc. I think their concern is legit. But, as I said earlier, I’m just channeling you to known resources.
no im addresing you. why do you care about piracy on your main account? its not facebook
I think there’s almost consensus on piracy being bad. I don’t want to tarnish my otherwise fine-ish ‘credibility’.
