Is it? It still works while so-called newer/better technology goes to the landfill within years.
Ubuntu because it was the first distro (after Mint and PopOS) to boot on my eclectic hardware.
Sounds like maybe webapps are a bad idea then.
If they need dynamism, how about releasing a desktop application?
