  • That’s definitely handy, gonna bookmark that stuff somewhere for later on, thx! Though I’m not the best with technical stuff or big ol’ manuals, and right now I sorta don’t have the time or energy to sift through all of it, just wanna fix this issue real quick if possible so I can continue with my day.

I did check the var lib override folder, nothings there strangely, no hidden files or anything even, completely blank. Scrolled down with the man 1 command in the terminal, also nothings there, what am I looking out for here? Are the overrides gone? Is this a different issues now or? Said something about X server missing when running an app through the terminal, what do I do about that?

I do have flatseal and do use it, but it’s a flatpak so I can’t launch it right now.

Sadly my system doesn’t have ethernet, WiFi only.

Chroot and reupdate? What do you mean?

Also I completely forgot to even try to see if I can use timeshift in the recovery lol, that’s an option! I seem to be able to access it from the recovery, should I try it first or?

Thaaaat’s what I’m worried about. I got a ton of stuff on here, apps, configurations, clipboard data, etc etc. so I don’t wanna lose anything if I can avoid it, it’s a lot. Is there really no way to fix this thing without a fresh reinstall? Right now the main hurdle is fixing the network thing in the recovery, is that impossible to fix or something?

If so, how would I go about pulling everything out and onto an external drive? Would I be able to start recovering stuff from there by like, idk dragging and dropping some folders here and there or?

There listed, but everytime I try to boot in it greets me with a stuck cursor and a black screen, no idea what’s going on.

Yeah that’s what I’m trying to do, but the networking isn’t working, can’t proceed with the recovery because of it, that’s what I need help with.

Alright, where do I find the recovery mode exactly? What am I looking for here? The live USB only lists different ways to try or install the distro, don’t see any recovery modes listed anywhere in its grub thingy.

I really hope so man, it’d really suck if the thing died on me like this. Alright I’m gonna try to sort out the USB thing.

I’d rather repair it as it’s my main system, so I definitely don’t wanna lose everything on it. Although the drive is encrypted, is that gonna be a problem for me? How do I go about all of this exactly?
